CEO, Invest Cyprus

George Campanellas is CEO of the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (Invest Cyprus) and Vice-President of the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA). He previously worked in the Ministries of Health and Energy, Commerce, Industry & Tourism. He played an active role in drafting the regulatory framework and running the relevant licensing procedures for attracting FDI to sectors of strategic importance and large-scale infrastructure projects, including the EuroAsia Interconnector and City of Dreams Mediterranean.

Vice-Chairman, Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission

George Karatzias is Vice-Chairman of the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission, prior to which he led Alter Domus fund services in Cyprus, having joined in 2011. He also served as a board member of the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA). He is a Fellow member of ACCA and holds a Master’s degree in Marketing and Financial Services (University of Exeter). He has experience in international fund structuring, management and the provision of ancillary, middle and back-office services, including fund administration.

Christia Evagorou is both a qualified lawyer and a Chartered Accountant. She is a Director of the Funds Services department of PwC Cyprus and has been servicing international private clients for 14 years in Nicosia and London. Her main areas of expertise are corporate structuring, corporate simplifications and buy-outs, managing regulatory and tax requirements and cross-border M&A transactions. She is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC) and the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA).

Seth R. Tovey joined PwC Israel in 2021 after over 25 years’ tax experience in a combination of public accounting and in-house roles, including ten years as Global Tax Director at Boston-based PE firm Advent International. At PwC, he assists with planning the legal and operational structuring of new entities, M&A acquisitions and restructurings, planning for proposed and anticipated changes in tax laws, income repatriation and remuneration structuring. He is also responsible for the US tax compliance of various US and non-US entities.

Stephanie Panayi heads Invest Cyprus’ Strategic Projects Unit, which is dedicated to attracting and facilitating FDI in priority sectors for the Government, including hospitality & tourism, healthcare, renewable energy and large commercial real estate. She is experienced in the field of foreign direct investment, asset management, investor relations, and business development. She studied Applied Foreign Languages and International Management & Business. She also holds a Hotel Asset Management Certificate and a Private Equity Investment Certificate.

George Chrysochos is an Executive Director of Cyfield Group. Before joining the family business on a full-time basis, he worked in the US and Greece as a consultant for Navigant and McKinsey & Company, gaining experience in strategy and operations, mergers and acquisitions and organisational restructuring in various industries. While working as a consultant, he had day-to-day involvement with Cyfield and, on his return to Cyprus, he led the Group’s entry into the energy market.

Brian J.C. Osborne, a Senior Advisor at Leptos Estates, was born in South Africa and attended Michaelhouse School, where he excelled in sports and represented South Africa in the U18 Hockey World Cup. He moved to Cyprus in 2008, where he worked for several offshore companies, mainly travelling the globe (to over 90 countries) and attracting investments into Cyprus. Cross-border business development is his forte. Recently, he was responsible for bringing the first Latin American investors to Cyprus, through Leptos Estates.
